Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Growing up, Dr. Hansen always knew she wanted to combine her interest in sciences and health with the ability to help others. She learned through her undergraduate work volunteering in hospitals, community health clinics, and private practices, that she deeply admired the long-term and trusting relationships a dentist builds with their patients. Today, Dr. Hansen feels most rewarded when she can give an apprehensive patient a positive experience in the dental chair.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Rhodes College in Memphis, she attended the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. Following graduation, Dr. Hansen went on to complete a certification in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry through NYU, where she was based on Santa Barbara working in community health clinics. Her commitment to excellence is highlighted by her memberships to the following organizations: ​​

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Returning to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Hansen loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Whether she is hiking, skiing, running or taking long walks with the family dog, she is happiest when she is active. Dr. Hansen also loves to travel with her family and partner. Her personal favorite trips include skiing in Bormio, Italy, living in Cristchurch, New Zealand for a month, and traveling to Valencia, Spain to present undergraduate research.

What About Your Family Outside the Dental Office?
Dr. Hansen's family can be found all over the United States. Some parents live as far away as Memphis, and her siblings can be found in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale, as well as Seattle, Dr. Hansen loves that she is close to her family despite the challenges of that distance and busy lives pose. Dr. Hansen met her partner, Ben, in dental school. They enjoy continuing to learn from and support each other in order to provide the best care for each of their patients.
